Once you have felt happy and well on a dose of medication, with no physical or psychological concerns, for at least two month,we can apply for Shared Care. This involves an agreement between our clinic and your GP practice. They will issue your prescriptions, under the NHS, at minimal cost to yourself. You will have a six monthly or annual review with ourselves, to ensure that you are still doing well.
Please note that not all GP practices will accept shared care requests from a private clinic. This varies from practice to practice. I would suggest you use our GP liaison service before assessment or treatment to avoid disappointment.
We can issue a repeat prescription, at your current dose, if you do not need to have a medication review but have run out of medication, have lost your last prescription or have allowed it to expire (Private controlled drug prescriptions expire after 28 days). This only applies for patients stable on a particular dose, having had both a review to start the dose and another to check its safety and efficacy.
Please ask for this during your video consultation should you need a faster turn around for writing your prescription, and for faster delivery.
